Resident Evil is back, but not how you remember it. Aniplex and JOYCITY have revealed Resident Evil: Survival Unit, a mobile strategy game. It’s free-to-play and launching in 2025. You’ll play it on iOS and Android devices worldwide.
This isn’t classic survival horror. Instead, it’s real-time battles, base building, and team strategy. All set in a fresh story linked to Umbrella.
A new story in a familiar world
You start in a dark hospital. You’re a test subject used by Umbrella. From there, things get strange. The game takes place in a parallel Resident Evil world.
It’s a new plot with familiar faces. You’ll meet characters like Leon, Claire, and Jill. You can build your own squad using heroes from across the series. Each has special skills for different battle styles.

Your base is a mansion
You get your own mansion. It’s your base for missions and planning. You can decorate it and talk to your team. It brings back the classic RE atmosphere.
The iconic Weapons Merchant returns too. You’ll buy gear, plan fights, and upgrade your team here.

Real-time combat and global play
The battles are fast and real-time. You’ll defend your base against monsters. You need to think quickly and use each character wisely.
The game supports real-time multiplayer. You can team up or fight other players around the world. It’s made for short, strategic play sessions.

A new monster by a legendary artist
Yoshitaka Amano joins the project. He created a new monster called Mortem. It looks creepy and surreal. It adds a fresh layer of horror.

Resident Evil: Survival Unit is something new. It keeps the dark world of RE but adds mobile tactics and fast action. It’s coming in 2025, and it looks like one to watch.
