Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II launches for PlayStation 5 on August 12, as confirmed by Xbox Game Studios and Ninja Theory. It will arrive alongside a big, enhanced update for all platforms.

Digital pre-orders are now open. The Standard Edition costs $49.99 (about £39.50). The Deluxe Edition is $69.99 (around £55.30). It includes the PS5-enhanced version of Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice and its full soundtrack.

If you already own the PS4 version of Senua’s Sacrifice, you’ll get a free upgrade to the PS5 version. No need to repurchase.

Hellblade II first launched on Xbox Series and PC in May 2025. Now, PlayStation fans finally get to play.

Big features in the Hellblade II enhanced update

This isn’t just a port. The update brings serious upgrades to visuals, gameplay, and more.

Performance Mode
The game now has a 60 FPS mode. This means smoother combat and faster movement. On PC, a new “Very High” preset boosts visuals. The game is also now Steam Deck Verified. It runs well, even on the go.

Dark Rot returns
The Dark Rot from the first game is back. It grows each time you fail. If it reaches Senua’s head, the game ends. Your progress is gone. It’s an optional mode, but a tough one.

Photo Mode upgrades
Photo Mode now has better settings. There’s a new Motion tab too. You can now capture cinematic video clips as well as photos.

Developer Commentary
The update includes over four hours of behind-the-scenes talk. You’ll hear from the dev team, actors, and mental health experts. It gives real insight into how the game was made.

\"Senua\'s

Hellblade II on PS5 arrives with more than just better graphics. It’s deeper, tougher, and more polished. August 12 is your chance to dive back in — or start fresh.
